Step 3

Complete (12) open studio Hours
with a Shop Manager

After taking an Intro to Letterpress class, you’re welcome to print during our Open Studio hours as you work on independent projects and become more familiar with the presses and printshop culture. A skilled printer will be on hand to provide guidance and answer the questions that inevitably arise.

After 12 hours of training, we can work with you to see if more classes or studio time will be required, or if you're ready to print independently as a member.

step 4

start paying your monthly dues

Work on your own projects independently or collaboratively, attend events, sign up for workshops at a discounted rate, and more.

It is hoped that as a member, each printer participates in monthly meetings wherein shopcraft, projects, and community & governing concerns are discussed. You will also be assigned a monthly chore on the ever-spinning Studio Printer chore wheel.

Step 5

Put yourself on the calendar

Our shared Google Calendar is how our printers schedule time for use of the shop. A Studio Printer or Shop Manager will invite you to share access to the calendar and you will be able to schedule your dates, times, and press preferences there.
