Poetry Month Writing & Printing
Poetry Month Writing & Printing
Celebrate National Poetry Month with an inky, expressive, hands-on workshop that blends writing, printing, and community. Over four Wednesday evenings in April (6–8:30pm), participants will gather to explore poetry through both words and type.
Each week, we’ll warm up with guided poetry prompts and group workshopping, then move into spontaneous composition using movable metal and wood type. You’ll set short poems by hand, experiment with layout and typography, and print your work on the press—embracing the beautiful constraints and surprises of letterpress.
As the weeks progress, we’ll curate and print a collaborative chapbook featuring original poems from everyone in the group. The final result will be a shared, tactile publication that reflects a month of creative exchange, ink-stained hands, and collective storytelling.
No prior letterpress or poetry experience is required—just curiosity, openness, and a willingness to play with language and form. Whether you’re a seasoned poet or brand new to writing, this workshop offers space to experiment, connect, and make something meaningful together.
All materials included. Participants will receive copies of the finished chapbook.
