No. 6 Paragraphs on Printing, by Bruce Rogers

Printed in 1943 by William E. Rudge’s Sons, this is a fine-looking book filled with observations about printing by one of the most respected type & book designers of the 20th C., Bruce Rogers. In our shop we have his most famous type design: Centaur in 12, 18, & 24 point. The book includes many full-page facsimiles of his elegant work in book design, featuring his characteristic use of ornament and border. Rogers is a pleasure to read, with occasional wit and insights that stand out. The Colophon begins by explaining the history of colophons — and is three pages long!
