This four hour workshop is perfect for those who want to make a small run of folded cards. You will learn a brief history of letterpress, and and overview of the space and equipment. As well as the cards, you will gain some experience learning fundamental letterpress techniques.

This workshop uses our Chandler & Price platen press, which is great for making cards, and makes a great chance to experience this style of printing press. In the end you will produce a small batch of handmade cards you created to share with your friends, family, colleagues clients etc.

It is 4 hours, and more of a beginning at learning how to make cards. Since all will be sharing one press, it is limited to 1 shared ink color and limited neutral color card stock.

Many students have taken this several times, as there’s no end to the amount of great cards to make and share with friends and family.

Please be conscious that cleanup and putting type away is every students responsibility, it does take time, and is part of the full letterpress experience.
