Making black ink by a method at least 1500 years old.

Oak galls are rich in tannin and other compounds that when mixed with iron create an intense black pigment that is indelible and perfect for brush or pen. We’ll make enough from local oak galls to have time to do some drawing and brush work on various papers to test its qualities. All materials provided …and each person will take home a vial of ink.
